A heartfelt congratulations to Florian Scheuer, Director of the Department of Economics and UBS Foundation Professor of Economics of Institutions at the University of Zurich, who has been appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) on the recommendation of the committee by Federal Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil.
About the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry of Finance
The Scientific Advisory Board of the BMF is one of the most renowned economic policy advisory bodies in Germany. Founded in 1949, it is composed of independent economists who advise the Ministry on fundamental issues of economic and fiscal policy. Members are appointed by the Federal Finance Minister on the recommendation of the Advisory Board.
Through scientifically grounded analyses, expert reports, and policy statements, the committee supports political decision-making processes and brings evidence-based perspectives to current reform debates, particularly on questions of fiscal, tax, and regulatory policy.
