Ernst Fehr elected as international member of the National Academy of Sciences

Congratulations to Ernst Fehr on being elected as an international member of the National Academy of Sciences.

A heartfelt congratulations to Ernst Fehr, Professor of Economics and Director of the UBS Center for Economics in Society, who has just been elected as an international member of the National Academy of Sciences, one of the highest honors in science!

This recognition reflects Ernst Fehr's distinguished and continuing achievements in original research, and it's incredibly well-deserved.

He joins a remarkable cohort of economists elected this year, including Robert Shiller, Janet Yellen, Elhanan Helpman, and Bengt Holmstrom, a truly esteemed group.

About the National Academy of Sciences
The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) recognize National Academy of Sciences leadership in promoting science for public good. The NAS was established in 1863 as a private, nongovernmental institution. The National Academy of Engineering was established in 1964 and the National Academy of Medicine (formerly the Institute of Medicine) in 1970, both under the NAS charter. The NAS established the National Research Council in 1916 to broaden the range of disciplines necessary for its advisory role. The Academies work together as the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
