Maya Eden, Andreas I. Mueller, and Timo Boppart have recently joined the Department of Economics.

Maya Eden has joined the Department as professor in Economics. Eden's research primary focus on  welfare economics and macroeconomics.

Prior to joining our Department she was an associate professor of economics at Brandeis University and she has worked as an economist in the Macroeconomics and Growth Team of the Development Economics Research Group at the World Bank.

Eden is also an affiliate of the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the Global Priorities Institute. She is the co-organizer of the virtual seminar series Normative Economics and Economic Policy, and an Associate Editor of the Review of Economic Dynamics.

Andreas I. Mueller has joined the Department as professor in Macroeconomics and Labor Markets. Mueller's research spans a broad spectrum of issues in macroeconomics, labor economics, and monetary economics.

Prior to joining the University of Zurich, Mueller was an associate professor at UT Austin and Columbia Business School. He received his doctorate from the IIES, Stockholm University, and was awarded the Arnbergska Prize for his dissertation work by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

Mueller has been published in leading academic journals such as the American Economic ReviewEconometrica, the Journal of Political Economy and the Review of Economic Studies.

Mueller is a Faculty Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a Research Affiliate at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), a Research Fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA), an Associate Editor at the Swiss Journal of Economics and Statistics (SJES) and an Associate Editor at the Journal of Monetary Economics (JME).

Timo Boppart has joined the Department as professor of Macroeconomics and Political Economy.

Boppart is interested in macroeconomics in general and particularly in growth, distribution and development. His research focuses on areas such as growth, firm dynamics, labor supply, and development.

Prior to joining our Department, Boppart was an associate professor at Stockholm University. He obtained his PhD in economics from our Department in 2012.
