Died: Zurich, Switzerland, 13 January 1941

 

Ground-breaking modernist author, e.g. of Dubliners (1914), Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (1916), Ulysses (1922), and Finnegans Wake (1939). Lived in Zurich 1915 to 1919 and 1940 until his death in 1941.
