Staff members can borrow books for two months from the Department of Economics Library (can be renewed). Lecturers and teaching assistants have the option of borrowing books until the end of term or as required. Books may be searched and requested via the Rechercheportal or ordered from firstname.lastname@example.org.
Free postal delivery
Books from our library can be delivered to your office free of charge; search for the book in the Rechercheportal and select the option “mail delivery” or via email@example.com. Materials can also be ordered from other libraries for free using our document delivery service (see below).
Document delivery service
We can procure literature for you from other libraries in Zurich, in Switzerland or worldwide. Please mention how urgently you need them. Materials will be delivered to your office or sent to you electronically (journal articles or book chapters). Send your requests to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Members of the Department are exempt from fees or fines (applies to our library only).
Buying books for your office collection
We can order books for your office (library discount) to be paid for by the Chair. Please provide your cost centre number, let us know how urgently you need them and send your orders to email@example.com.
New acquisitions for the library
Please send your recommendations for new books for the library to firstname.lastname@example.org.
License request for e-media
If you want the library to license a new database or e-journal, please fill in this form. We'll take the necessary steps and keep you posted. Please note that this process may take some time.
Required reading lists
We can forward your recommended reading lists to be included in the university course catalogue (monographs) as well as buying multiple copies for the library. In some cases, textbooks can be provided electronically. Orders and course information from email@example.com.
ZORA / Merlin
We ask all members of the Department to send us details of their latest publications and pdf-files of accepted manuscripts to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be happy to upload them to the university’s scholarly open access repository ZORA (Zurich Open Repository and Archive). Publications in ZORA will be automatically forwarded to Merlin, the OEC faculty information system. If you have any questions about Merlin or ZORA, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Members of the Department who wish to publish their research in the ECON-Working paper series can send their pdf-file and the accompanying information to email@example.com (for details, see Guidelines in the Intranet).
The Economist / NZZ
Members of the Department have free access to The Economist and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ). Get your login at firstname.lastname@example.org.
