When Science Meets Policy-Making
March 13, 2018 | 16:00 - 17:00 | SOF-G-21

Johannes Wedenig will answer questions about UNICEF's work and the value of scientific research, technology, and innovation for improving the lives of children and teenagers in one of the world's poorest countries.

Johannes Wedenig has been UNICEF Representative for Malawi since 2016. Before taking on this role, Johannes was UNICEF Representative for Burundi and Deputy Director of UNICEF Program Division at headquarters. He is pioneering very innovative work in Malawi, including a Big Data hub, the use of drones, and a longitudinal study relying on wearable technologies for high-frequency data collection in partnership with the Center for Child Well-being and Development at the University of Zurich.
