Rainer Winkelmann

Rainer Winkelmann studied economics at the University of Konstanz, Paris IX-Dauphine, Washington University in St. Louis, and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Munich (1993). He taught at Dartmouth College, USA, and the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, before joining the University of Zurich as Professor for Statistics and Empirical Economic Research in 2001.

His research interests are in micro-econometrics, in particular models for discrete data and panel data, with applications in social policy analysis, including work, family and well-being.
