Empirical Economics / Empirical Policy Analysis

The research focus of this Chair is on using game-theoretic modeling with empirical analysis to examine policy issues in industrial organization and applied health. The research covers a wide range of topics including the analysis of individual-decision making under limited information and the implications for firms’ decisions and market power, the antitrust implications of research collaboration, decisions concerning long-term care for the elderly, and how individuals make risky decisions concerning their health. The research has implications for the design of antitrust/competition policy and public health policy.
